With to-do lists a mile long, the hustle and bustle of life and worrying about everyone else’s needs around us, many people do not take time for self-care. We are lucky enough to be living in an era where self-care is more talked about and available to us but still people fail to actually take the time for it.
Self-Care is important for our mental, physical and emotional well being. While we struggle to find time for ourselves, it is crucial for our overall well being. Caring for yourself will help you reset and refocus on the things that may have been causing you to feel burnt out and help relieve your overall stress. Also, it can boost your confidence and self-esteem and helps produce positive feelings.
Types of Self-Care
Meditation is a great way to take some time to self-reflect and let your mind rest. There are many apps available that can help guide you into some deep breathing exercises and guided meditation.
Care for your body; get a massage, schedule a pedicure and manicure, do a face mask at home and exfoliate your skin, deep condition your hair or take a warm bubble bath. Caring for our amazing bodies and all they do for us is a perfect form of self-care and can easily be done in the comfort of your own home right here at The Regency.
Enjoy a hobby you once loved, even throw it back to your childhood. Color in a coloring book, bake something from scratch, go for a bike ride, walk in the leaves, go fishing, read a book, watch your favorite movie just find something that will make you relax and feel happy.
Taking care of yourself should be something you incorporate into your everyday routine. Making sure you are eating food that will fuel your body, moving your body for 30 minutes everyday, making sure you are getting a restful night of sleep, not overdoing your screen time, keeping good personal hygiene habits, drinking half your body weight in ounces of water each day are all important for your overall well being.
Any amount of time you can take for yourself is important. Don’t focus on your to-do list, when you feel the need to recharge be sure you take the time to do so. Remember you cannot take care of others well if you are not taking care of yourself.
Here at The Regency at Johns Creek Walk we strive to give you the luxury living experience you need to be able to focus your extra time on your own well being.
